Daylight Saving Time in the UAE

The UAE does not observe daylight saving time. Clocks stay on UAE Standard Time (UTC+4) all year round, so only sunrise and sunset times shift with the seasons — the clock itself never changes, unlike in countries that move clocks forward or back.

Why Times Differ Slightly Across the Emirates

All seven emirates sit close together, so sunrise and sunset times differ by only a few minutes between them. Fujairah, on the east coast, sees the sun rise and set a little earlier than the west-coast emirates such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi, since it is slightly further east. Latitude also plays a small part — Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost emirate, has marginally longer summer days and shorter winter days than Abu Dhabi in the south.
